0004: Mascots and Disappointment

In my previous post, I excitedly talked about going to the MCM Expo this month but lo and behold, the bills came by at such an unsuspecting time and one the blew my bank account off the face of the Earth. A little dramatic but I truly felt shattered. I've wanted to go since last year when I couldn't go for the one in October. I will and I must go for the one in October this year or I will feel truly disappointed at myself (and sad as well). Maybe I'll be able to cosplay for the next event? I doubt it though.

Another reason why I wasn't able to go was because I was trying to come up with a mascot for my sister and brother-in-law's gym. They had something specific in mind and I had a challenging time drawing it. I don't draw muscle men(1) very well but I'm quite proud of what I've done. After giving them a bust of the mascot, they asked for a full body. However, they gave me about half a day to do it, which really was the most difficult part of the mascot since I had to connect the bust to the lower part of the body. I  believe I spent too much trying to design the shoes, though.

I have done this before, also for my sister's gym. Now, I'm not talking about the same sister. I'm speaking of my sister, second elder. She didn't want a mascot, she asked for a logo(2). It was a lot easier to make a logo than to create a mascot. She had something more specific in mind and that also lifted some burden off when I was making it.

Oh, yeah. Today, I finally cleaned my room. After chucking things into the bin and putting things to their rightful places I've room on my floor again!

(1) Have you seen the images that Google comes up with when you type in muscle men with the filter off? Don't do it if you're not interested in seeing men's junks or using those junks in sexual ways.
(2) You must know the difference between designing a logo and mascot. They're not the same.

0003: Bloody Blood

Recently, I've been waking up around seven to eight in the morning without the help of my alarm clock, which is a little bit annoying considering that I sleep around three in the morning. It's nice that I do wake up so early but why does it have to happen when I'm not going to school anymore? Why can't I wake up early all the time when I was attending school?

Ah, it matters not.

On other news, last night, I bought a ticket to go to The Netherlands(1). I told my parents I weren't going but now I need to retell them that I am.I'll be staying there for a whole month from June 2nd to June 29th. Before that though, I'll be going to London and attend the MCM Expo(2). That begins on the 27th to the 29th of May. It'll be my second time attending it and I do hope that someone else will come along with me but I have a feeling that no one will. Oh, sad face.

I will, though, meet a friend there! She will be dressed up as two Vocaloids(3) on three different days. I do hope that I get to borrow my friend's camera during that time so that I could take pictures of everyone. And hopefully, I'll be wearing something comfortable. Last year's get up was not… really a cosplay(4). It's not the best picture as it was during the trial process. I wonder who has actual pictures of me with the full outfit?

So what's up with the title of the blog? Well, to tell you the truth. Today, my first day of holidays, I went to donate my blood! It is number thirteen on my New Year's Resolution list! I'll have to re-post the list somewhere soon. Maybe after I post this blog entry. But, yeah! I finally got to donate my blood. I don't understand why people find it scary; it doesn't even hurt when they stick the needle in. Some of my friends have been scaring me, asking me whether I knew how big the needle was but it wasn't big at all. If you ever feel like donating, don't let the distance to the session or the needle scare you. Blood is very important in the medical field and they really need people to start donating. Here's a picture and a short video! Not the best ever recorded but still my experience.

Also, I have a feeling that some people hate listening to me and find me a bad influence as well.

No One Listens

/* Numbered Notes */
(1) I have been to The Netherlands before and I do love it there. Somehow, it's a little nicer there than it is here. Or it could be just because I need to pay rent here and not there.
(2) MCM Expo is a convention mostly for anime, manga, Japanese culture and for people to try and sell their comics or merchandise etc.
(3) A singing synthesizer application or engine where users can make the program sing songs (original or cover).
(4) Cosplay is short for the words "costume role-play" where people dress up as a character from an anime, TV show etc.

0002: Panic Deficiency

I spent these few days trying to catch up with my work.(1) Not because I was just lazy but I was in Hull for the first part of the holidays and then I had someone visiting me for the rest of the holidays. Spending time on work when you have a guest around who came all the way from a different country just to visit you is very rude. I've done some work and have posted it at Studio Ingathio: WSA05 Balloons and Jars pt1.

My work's a little behind… Well, a lot behind but my panic gauge isn't activated yet. Deadline's in five days. I'm actually more nervous about meeting with the doctor this Friday and the blood donation happening on the 25th this month.(2)

I'm seeing the doctor to have her check out with these marks that are appearing on my skin suddenly. They seem to be random dry circles on my arms but a couple or so days later, they start to look like circular burn marks. I'm not really nervous to meet the doctor; more nervous in knowing what she says it is.

Talking about doctors I watched the fourth episode of Doctor Who(3) last night. It was an interesting one after what I thought was a disappointing third episode. Loved the concept of the third but they didn't really pull it off. It's strange to say this but it was not believable. The fourth one, though. OH! The fourth one!(4) It's just really nicely done. Other than the bad voice acting at the end for the meteorite/asteroid (whichever, I forget) it was a bloody good episode.

I'm also starting to have a thing for Karen Gillan. I'm not sure how she is personality-wise off set but I do fancy certain types of red heads.(5)

I woke up at quarter to eight this morning and now it's four in the morning. I really shouldn't have drunken that ice cold coffee. I have trouble drinking tap water here. It tastes weird. So I try my best to come up with ways to drink to keep myself hydrated. Last time, I forced myself to eat an apple just so I could quench my thirst. I dislike some kinds of apples.

I really have no motivation to do any work right now and it might be because I still have to wait for the pieces to dry before working more on them. On top of that, I am unbelievably bored.

(1) I lacked motivation, too. Not a good combination in my honest opinion.
(2) During this point, I would like to tell you that I am suddenly hungry.
(3) Doctor Who, if you are unfamiliar with it, is a popular British sci-fi TV series which ran from 1963 to 1989. It relaunched in 2005.
(4) I never thought of watching Doctor Who until I did so by mistake.
(5) Get in touch if you want to know what that means. You can probably guess, though.

0001: A Revival

Hey guys!

I know it's been a while since I updated anything and not only that, but I deleted the whole blog! Now, I know a few people tend to get pissed off or frustrated at that a lot. To those who are, I'm sorry but I promise that this will be the last time I delete entries from this blog.

As you can see, I've decided to drop the individual backgrounds for the entries. For now, that is. I'm trying to find out what the goal of this blog will be. In the beginning, it was going to become my art blog; where I place all my sketches of stuff that I was discontinuing or something that related to the workings towards my final pieces for school. Afterwards, it became a place where I recounted my past experiences and stories from my point of view, biased. That actually got me an earful from my mother. Yes, I know a few people would have said something along the lines of, "Oh God, you're still listening to your mom?" And I will reply, and always reply, "Yes.".(1)

So what should I start off with first? Nothing really. This entry is a marker, to commemorate the beginning of its revival. I guess this is where someone with the given title of honorary host or guest cuts some kind of ribbon and whack a perfectly good bottle of wine against a gigantic and fierce-looking nose of a ship.(2)

Snip. Shatter.

Thank you for being here during the opening! Come again!(3)

/* Numbered Notes */
(1) This is also true if they have substituted the word mom to dad and all their variants.
(2) Just so I don't get beaten up; I know it's called the hull.
(3) Also, a big thank you to my little sister who has inspired me to continue on with the blog even if she doesn't realize it. If you're reading this, you know that I've used a bit of your blog formatting style. Holler if you'd like to be linked.
